Yèvres: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The circular hike “Yèvres – Sur les rives de l'Ozanne” is moderately difficult, 15.5 kilometres long, and takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. It passes through fields and meadows and along the banks of the Ozanne, offering encounters with hares, partridges and moorhens. The route is marked in yellow and begins below the church.
Nature and Trails
The Ozanne River runs through the municipality of Yèvres. Numerous paths invite visitors to enjoy walks and hikes, and fishing is possible along the riverbanks. Near the town centre is the Aire de l'Ozanne, which provides eight shaded picnic tables.
Horse Riding and Activities
The Ferme Équestre du Grand Épinay in Yèvres covers 51 hectares, with extensive horse pastures. It offers horseback rides, riding lessons, pony rides for beginners and horseback archery.
Culture and History
The Notre-Dame Church in Yèvres is listed as a Monument historique; protection was granted by decree on 15 February 1988. It was built during the Romanesque period and altered in the 13th, 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. Inside are sculptures by the Breton artist Charles Roscoët, a monumental pulpit and a chasuble cabinet containing a significant collection of ecclesiastical vestments.
The military plot commemorates soldiers who fell in the First World War from 1914 to 1918. Four soldiers from Yèvres rest there side by side. The military plot is located near the cemetery shelter, opposite the graves of two Allied soldiers who died when their aircraft crashed on the night of 28 to 29 July 1944.
Routes and Surroundings
The tourist route of the châteaux of Perche Gouet is a 97-kilometre circular route with 16 stages and begins in Yèvres. Nearby, in Brou, a weekly market has been held every Wednesday since at least the 12th century. The A11 motorway provides two access points near Yèvres, at Illiers-Combray and Luigny; both are approximately 15 kilometres away.
