Vichères: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Colline de Rougemont reaches a height of 285 metres, making it the highest point in the Eure-et-Loir département. Vichères is part of the Parc Naturel du Perche.

Nature and Trails

The “La colline de Rougemont” circular trail begins and ends in Vichères, is 8.6 kilometres long, and is classified as a very easy hike. It passes the Cascade du moulin Guillaume. “La vallée de la Berthe” is a hiking trail in Vichères that begins at the Église Notre-Dame. Via sunken lanes, this circular trail connects the Colline de Rougemont with the picturesque Vallée de la Berthe.

The “Autour de Vichères” route follows the Berthe and continues on to Chauveau.

Culture and Townscape

The steep town centre of Vichères is dominated by the Église Notre-Dame, with its bell tower and three chapels with gable ends facing the street. The main construction phase of the Église Notre-Dame dates from the 16th century; it has been protected as a Monument historique since 9 July 1927.

The Manoir de la Manorière manor house dates from the 16th century and consists of a rectangular main building with two round corner towers. By decree of 2 March 1927, the Manoir de la Manorière manor house was protected as a Monument historique. The La Manorière manor house is an example of the manor-house architecture characteristic of the history of Perche in the 15th and 16th centuries. The Manoir de Bure manor house preserves part of its half-timbering.

The traditional townscape of Vichères is characterised by red sand and white stone. A pilgrimage takes place at the Oratoire marial de Rougemont on 15 August.
