Senonches: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The state-owned forest of Senonches covers 4,283.38 hectares and is criss-crossed by 10 marked circular trails ranging from 4.6 to 42.3 km in length.

Nature

The Sentier de l’Orée du bois is a 600 m-long trail created by the ONF and accessible to all visitors in the Senonches forest. It features 10 themed stations with playful and informative panels. There is a car park and a picnic area along the trail.

History and Culture

The Château de Senonches offers a family-oriented, interactive and educational visit focusing on the forest ecosystem and the special features of the state-owned forest of Senonches. The Château de Senonches dates back to its construction by Hugues II in the early 12th century on the site of a previously completely destroyed castle.

The Église Notre-Dame de Senonches is a fortified church that was integrated into the town’s defensive system. A digital tour of Senonches invites visitors to discover 15 of the town’s notable buildings.

Market

The traditional market of Senonches, typical of the Perche region, takes place every Friday morning from 08:00 to 13:00 all year round. The Senonches market features, among others, cheesemongers, butchers, charcutiers, fishmongers, poultry sellers, confectioners, fruit and vegetable sellers, and market gardeners.

Leisure

The seasonal leisure centre organised by the Communauté de Communes des Forêts du Perche has been located at the Senonches football stadium since 2021 and operates temporarily every summer. It offers inflatable play structures, pedal go-karts, laser rifle shooting, oversized board games, table football, table tennis, badminton, a trampoline and Mölkky.

Fishing is possible at Lac Arthur Rémy all year round, either in the conventional way or with a belly boat. Lac Arthur Rémy is a fishing lake classified as a category 2 water body and awarded the “Parcours Famille” label.

Senonches is served by RÉMI bus routes 10 towards Chartres and 25 towards Dreux.
