Happonvilliers: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Happonvilliers combines an unusual garden complex with a scenic cycling route and is also located within the Natura 2000 bird protection area „Forêts et étangs du Perche“.
Culture and Garden Art
The Jardins de la Feuilleraie in Happonvilliers form a park and garden complex with two mosaic gardens named „Rose“ and „Blue“. The two gardens were created by the artist Hurfane, a former teacher of classical literature, between 1980 and 2000. The complex contains a total of around 500 m² of mosaics on terraces, pools, pillars, walls and planter boxes.
The Rose Garden depicts familiar animals, flowers and scenes from rural life in times gone by. The Blue Garden uses arabesque forms that evoke the sea, the sky and the passage of time.
Cycling Route Through the Surrounding Countryside
Near the centre of Happonvilliers, the „Doux plateaux et premiers reliefs du Perche“ cycling route passes the village washhouse and offers a place for a picnic break beneath the trees. The very easy 27.5-kilometre road cycling loop is indicated as taking around three hours. It follows picturesque roads along forest edges and through fields and is suitable for families.
