Culture

The Église de Puy-Ferrand in Le Châtelet was classified as a historic monument by a decree dated 15 April 1911. Its structure comprises a nave, two transepts with subsidiary apses, and a square bell tower.

The church of the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Puyferrand combines a Romanesque choir from the 12th century with the Gothic Chapelle Saint-Blaise. The abbey stands on the heights of Le Châtelet and overlooks a landscape of valleys and forests.

Pottery

The Musée de la Poterie des Archers is located in the former workshop of potter Jean-Louis Manigault, where it displays old stoneware pottery from Berry. At the Village Potier des Archers, potters and ceramicists offer a variety of pieces made from earthenware, Raku and porcelain throughout the year.

A recurring event is the Marché de Potiers des Archers. It has taken place every year since 1993 on the third Sunday in June and features around 40 exhibitors from all over France.

Paths and discoveries

Le Châtelet lies along the Saint Jacques à vélo cycle route via Vézelay. The La Boucle des épis discovery trail can be visited all year round during the tourist office’s opening hours and passes La Tour Carrée and the Saint Martial church.
