History and Culture
The parish church of Montagny-sur-Grosne is dedicated to Saint Fiacre. The Church of Saint Fiacre was rebuilt slightly north of the site of the former church, on the edge of the RD 289. It consists of a single nave, a wide chancel bay, a semicircular apse and two side chapels. Its bell dates from 1597 and was listed as protected on 11 April 1932.
The Château d’Ouilly is currently privately owned. The Ouilly estate, which includes the Château d’Ouilly, has been documented since the beginning of the 12th century under the name Williel. Léon Bruys had the old residence of Ouilly demolished and had a château built in its place in the Italian style.
Since 2002, the Comité des fêtes has organised the Fête du pain every year.
Trails and Landscape
The MSG1 circular hiking trail starts at the washhouse in Montagny. It has an elevation gain of 168 metres and is classified as easy. Along its route, it reaches a viewpoint overlooking the Grosne Valley and passes through woodland as well as between woodland and meadow.
The “The Grand Tour” route also starts at the washhouse in Montagny-sur-Grosne. It leads into the Esmyards forest and crosses a meadow.
Nature
The Vallon du Raverot is ecologically integrated into the extensive Natura 2000 zone of the Clunisois. The small area of the Vallon du Raverot is home to a dense population of yellow-bellied toads.
