Nature and Paths
A path created in 2021 leads around a basin with special flora and fauna and is equipped with benches. The path around the basin leads from a washhouse fed by a warm spring to a lock made of hewn stone on the River L’Arlois.
At the entrance to Leynes, the Verger de la Maraude is open to everyone. Walkers can pick fruit from old varieties such as “Reinette de Mâcon”.

Landscape
Leynes lies in an amphitheatrical setting between the small mountain range of the Cévennes and the Balmonts Mountains; the River L’Arlois flows through the village.
Leynes is characterised by a vineyard landscape whose peaks are wooded. In the heart of the village lies the Creux du Vic, the only bocage area in Leynes, an old meadow with rich biodiversity.
Culture and History
The “Sur les traces du temps à Leynes” tour is a walking route through Leynes’ historical and contemporary heritage.
The name “Château de Leynes” refers to a priory built around 1300, which was used by Benedictine monks as an outpost of the Abbey of Tournus.
The Foire des plançons in Leynes continues to take place. It is a fair for plants and legume products.

Domaine Chardigny was fully certified for organic farming in 2020 and welcomes visitors to its wine cellar for wine tastings.
