Tramayes: Holiday apartments and houses

Marked trails of the “Balades Vertes” make it possible to discover the local landscapes and cultural heritage in Tramayes. Their network of paths leads to the 758-metre-high Signal de la Mère Boîtier, one of the highest points in the Mâconnais. From there, the 360-degree panorama stretches across the Alps, the Jura, the Saône plain, and the Monts du Mâconnais, Charolais and Beaujolais. Trails and landscapes

The GR76, locally known as the “Chemin des Moines”, is used by the Way of St. James and the Way of Assisi.

The Tour de Vannas circular trail is suitable for hiking and mountain biking. It offers views of the Grosne Valley and the mountains of Charolais, Mâconnais and Beaujolais, and passes isolated farms and pastures where sheep or cattle graze.

The La Mère Boitier footpath is marked by artistically carved stone crosses. The Circuit des Sources is a circular walking route on which visitors can discover the village of Tramayes.

The “À la découverte des paysages viticoles: de Tramayes à Mâcon” route passes through vineyards and offers panoramic views of the Saône Valley.

The Champvent free-flight site on the Massif de la Mère Boitier is equipped for paragliding and offers views over the Val Lamartinien.

Culture and history

The Château de Tramayes has been listed as a historic monument since 14 March 1977 and is privately owned.

The Romanesque-style Church of Saint John the Baptist features a decorative arrangement of columns and pilasters, as well as a tall bell tower protected as a historic monument, which now serves as a tower porch. The church was rebuilt in the 19th century; the bell tower and the former Romanesque choir bay were preserved.
