In Quéven, the approximately 20-hectare Bois de Kercadoret lies on a steep slope overlooking the river estuary. Along the walking trail, kingfishers, cormorants, herons, little egrets and birds of prey can be observed.
Nature
The Vasières du Roze are home to numerous breeding, migratory and overwintering birds, including grey herons, whimbrels and little grebes. The Parc de Kerzec covers 11 hectares in the heart of Quéven.
Trails and golf
The “du Scave au Scorff” circular trail starts at Quéven’s former railway station, is 11 km long and leads through forests, salt marshes and reed beds.
The Bluegreen Val Quéven golf course has extensive tree-lined fairways.
Culture and history
The Sac'h Quéven powder magazine was built in 1883. It was intended as a central depot for the French Navy’s gunpowder in Lorient and as an annex to the Tréfaven powder magazine. The site has been closed since 2003, is awaiting repurposing and serves as a canvas for urban art murals.
An immersive virtual tour is available for the historic Chapelle Saint Nicodème in Quéven. The Chapelle de la Sainte Trinité in Quéven was built between 1960 and 1962.
Le Trou des Chouans is a Neolithic cairn with two passage dolmens. By decree of 17 June 1977, the site was classified as a historic monument.
