In Romillé, the Church of Saint Martin, Château, le Perronay and preserved traces of the village’s history are part of the local heritage; the municipality’s landscape includes bocage hedgerows.
Culture and History
The southern and northern walls of the nave of the Church of Saint Martin in Romillé contain preserved remains from the 12th century. The Church of Saint Martin was rebuilt in the 15th century following the plan of a Latin cross; two chapels were added on the west side in the 16th century.
Château, le Perronay also has a striking architectural detail: an external horseshoe-shaped staircase. The first seigneurial castle of the historic village of Romillé was moved to Perronnay in the same municipality from the 15th century onwards. In the village of Romillé, only the chimney bases bearing chronograms remain.
The cultural offering also includes Le Korrigan, a local cinema showing arthouse, family and youth films. In the wider region around Romillé are the historic site of Abbaye Saint-Jacques, the Musée des Beaux-Arts, the historic site of La fontaine de Jouvence and the historic site of Tombeau de Merlin.
Landscape and Hiking
Romillé’s hiking programme includes a two-hour hike on Thursdays, except during the third week of the month. The meeting point for Romillé’s hikes is the car park at Halle Le Pré Vert; participants should arrive ten minutes before the stated departure time. Romillé’s hiking trails pass through the municipality’s bocage hedgerows.

The Au Coin de ma Rue association organises a street arts festival in Romillé’s town centre every year on the first Sunday in September.
