The parish church of Saint-Etienne has a Latin cross floor plan, a façade tower and a remarkable portal. Château de La Bourbansais has been owned by the same family since it was built in 1583.

Château, Wildlife and Gardens

The Parc zoologique de La Bourbansais is home to almost 500 animals from 80 species from around the world. La Bourbansais also participates in European conservation breeding programmes for endangered species.

The “Des Chiens et des hommes” demonstration at La Bourbansais features Border Collies herding a flock of sheep. “Le tour du monde en 80 oiseaux” showcases more than 80 birds from five continents. The “Fauconnier d’un jour” experience is offered by the Parc zoologique and Château de La Bourbansais in Pleugueneuc.

The Jardins de La Bourbansais cover 20 hectares in the Ille-et-Vilaine département. During the season, the Potager de La Bourbansais offers guided tours focusing on the history of the gardens, plants and heritage vegetable varieties. “Du potager à l’assiette” includes a visit to the kitchen garden, with an introduction to the crops, vegetables, plants and fruit currently growing there.

Culture and Nature

The Penthievre Tower, the Cardinal Gate and the St. Louis Gate are located in the area around Pleugueneuc. All three are historic sites in the vicinity of Pleugueneuc.
