Louvigné-De-Bais: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Louvigné-de-Bais combines historic buildings, visible traces of everyday life and paths through the bocage landscape. The townscape is complemented by the Parc des merveilles and local events.

Culture and History

The nave of the Église Saint-Patern was built by Richard Babin between 1536 and 1546. The exterior architecture includes gargoyles, a sundial and various other motifs. The church’s stained-glass windows, which date from the 15th century, are also noteworthy.

The Chapelle Saint-Job is another visible historical landmark in Louvigné-de-Bais: it was completely restored in 2022 and 2023 and reopened to the public on 20 March 2023. Two particularly well-restored bread ovens can be seen by the roadside. One stands in Les Patisseaux on the former Route de Cornillé, and the other in Rue des Saulniers in La Bouvrie.

Paths Through the Landscape and Townscape

The Circuit des Diligences No. 23 covers 11.6 kilometres through the Louvigné-de-Bais area, of which 6.1 kilometres run along roads. The route passes through the bocage landscapes and provides access to the municipality’s rich architectural heritage. Near its starting and finishing point, there is a car park, a water point, toilets and a local food shop.

Another route through the rural surroundings is Vélo Promenade® No. 6. It connects Louvigné-de-Bais and Domalain and passes through the countryside between the two places.

Park and Small Discoveries

The Parc des merveilles has a pump track and a zip line. The park also includes the “Les Lauriers” walking and jogging path. It can be reached via the Route de Vergéal, where there is a car park.

Another way to explore Louvigné-de-Bais is the free QR-code treasure hunt. It is open as a short walk for families, accompanied children, friends, residents and visitors.

Events and Reading Culture

The Louvigné-de-Bais library is taking part in the 2026 edition of the Partir en Livre reading festival as one of the nine libraries in the Arléane network. This edition takes place from 17 June to 19 July 2026.

The Tablées de Louvigné-de-Bais took place for the third time in 2026 as a convivial end-of-summer event; the date was Sunday, 30 August, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. At the Tablées on 31 August 2025, there was a convivial picnic as well as board games and large-format games in the afternoon.
