Cherrueix is a coastal village in the heart of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, which is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The area of Cherrueix stretches along the Digue de la Duchesse Anne.

Landscape and trails

Visitor activities in Cherrueix include hiking trails and coastal fishing on foot. A trail through the Marais blanc runs alongside drainage ditches and waterways; one section follows such a ditch for around 3 km. The Circuit des Grèves et Marais circular trail has been awarded the FFRandonnée quality label.

Beach and maritime insights

The Char en Baie centre offers introductory sessions and training in the operation of sand yachts. The Char en Baie beach area is easily accessible via a ramp or slipway; the firm sand can be traversed by a wheelchair with standard wheels.

The Train Marin departs from Cherrueix and provides insights into mussel farming and traditional wooden fishing traps.

Culture and regional products

The Moulin de La Saline dates back to 1827. The sails and roof structure of the Moulin de La Saline have been restored. The chapel dates back to the 14th century.

In front of Cherrueix, poles known as bouchots are used to farm mussels with AOP certification. The Maison des Produits du Terroir et de la Gastronomie offers an interactive exhibition on regional gastronomy and local products.
