The Dunes et étangs de Trévignon area forms a 300-hectare, seven-kilometre-long belt of dunes within a Natura 2000 zone.

Coast and Water

Plage de la Baleine, also known as Plage de Trévignon, borders Pointe de Trévignon. The long white sandy beach is situated in a protected environment and is ideal for relaxing and swimming. In summer, there is a water sports centre at Plage de la Baleine; the beach is also known for windsurfing and kitesurfing.

Trails and Nature

The GR34 coastal trail runs for 23 kilometres along the coast of Trégunc. The easy, signposted seven-kilometre “Hike of Trévignon” begins at Saint-Philibert Church in Trégunc, initially follows the GR34 for four kilometres and then leads to the Maison du littoral, which has a permanent exhibition about the wildlife of the Trévignon ponds. Guided nature excursions are offered in the Dunes et étangs de Trévignon nature reserve by guides from the Bretagne Vivante association. The Dunes et étangs de Kerouiny area is managed by the municipality of Trégunc.

Culture and History

The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Kerven in Trégunc is a chapel built in the 16th century and has been listed as a historic monument since 3 June 1932. The guided walk “Balade au pays des Pierres Debout” explores the secrets and legends of the stones of Trégunc. The granite monoliths known as “pierres debout”, or “Mein Zao” in Breton, stand in the landscape of Névez and Trégunc and are used as fences, walls or extensions.

Conserverie Courtin offers a free, self-guided tour about the history of the business and the production of its authentic products. It was founded as a family business in 1893 and is the oldest cannery in Concarneau and one of the oldest in Brittany.
