Querrien: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The area of Querrien is bordered by the three rivers Ellé, Isole and Naïc and offers diverse landscapes, particularly wooded slopes and valley floors. Querrien’s remarkable religious heritage contributes to the layout of several hiking trails.

Culture and History

The Église Saint-Chéron was rebuilt between 1740 and 1772 following the ground plan of a Neo-Romanesque Latin cross. Inside, wooden vaults decorated with ermine and fleur-de-lis motifs can be seen.

The Chapelle Saint-Joseph was built from 16 March 1892 to 16 March 1893 and blessed on 16 March 1893. The Neoclassical building has a rectangular ground plan with a single-nave interior. In 1892, the chapel was moved from the presumed entrance area of the avenue leading to Château de Kerguyomarc’h to the town centre, where it was rebuilt. The Médiathèque is housed in the Chapelle Saint-Joseph in the centre of Querrien; it invites visitors to read and discover new horizons.

The Fontaine de la Clarté is located about 300 metres from this chapel and is part of a complete pilgrimage route, during which a visit to the spring is obligatory. It continues to be visited by people from other places outside Querrien.

The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-la-Clarté was extended and restored in 1662. Its ground plan is shaped like a Latin cross; the bell tower has an octagonal lantern and a dome. The Chapelle Sainte-Anne was completed in 1949, but its bell tower had to wait for additional funding.

Nature and Trails

The municipality of Querrien provides an official map of the hiking trails. Along the Balade des Roches du Diable hike, visitors can enjoy views of the Roches du Diable and the Ellé Valley, as well as a visit to a mill and a bread oven, or corresponding points of interest.

The Roches du Diable are located between Guilligomarc’h, Locunolé and Querrien and can be reached via a network of paths. In the surroundings of Querrien, between Guilligomarc’h, Locunolé and Querrien, they offer opportunities for hiking, fishing and outdoor sports activities.
