Plovan: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Plovan’s coastline includes a six-kilometre-long seafront bordered by an extraordinary pebble ridge called “an Ero Vili” (“pebble ridge”).

Coast and Nature

The “an Ero Vili” pebble ridge holds back a freshwater body and forms a natural protective barrier for the dune and the hinterland. Plage de Ru Vein is a six-kilometre-long fine-sand beach suitable for gliding sports.

The Circuit des étangs de Languidou passes through sensitive natural areas protected by the Conservatoire du Littoral.

Culture

The Église Saint-Gorgon was largely rebuilt in 1791; its bell tower bears the year 1520. The Chapelle de Languidou is one of the finest examples of the Pont-Croix architectural style.

The Musée La classe patrimoine de Plovan reconstructs a classroom as pupils might have known it in the 1950s and 1960s. It displays wooden desks with pen holders, old printing equipment from the Freinet school, a historic reading board and old schoolbooks.

The Site de Saint-Kodélig includes a faceted Gallic stele known as the “motte de beurre”. The Site de Saint-Kodélig lies on the border between Plovan and Pouldreuzic and along the “sentier de Saint Kodelig” hiking trail.

Routes and Activities

Véloroute No. 45, “La Littorale”, is considered an opportunity to explore Plovan’s cultural and natural heritage. Plein Ouest’s land-sailing activity takes place in the Palud Gronval – Plovan – Penhors Plage area in Pouldreuzic; it requires no particular physical fitness and is suitable even for young children.

Line 955 runs from Quimper to Pouldreuzic via Plonéour-Lanvern, Tréogat, Peumerit and Plovan.
