Culture and history

In the vicinity of Plounévez-Lochrist lies the Château de Maillé, a castle. It was built around 1570 by Maurice de Carman and his wife Jeanne de Goulaine. The Château incorporates parts of an older manor house; several architectural details are inspired by the work of Sirlio and Philibert de l’Orme. Its grounds and certain interior areas were listed as a Monument historique in 1981.

Only the 12th-century bell tower of the Chapelle de Lochrist remains. This bell tower was listed as a Monument historique on 8 June 1914.

In the vicinity of Plounévez-Lochrist lies the Église Saint-Pierre, a church. It is a Neo-Romanesque building with a south portal in the Philibert Delorme style. It contains the listed tomb of Bishop Jean de Kermavan, who died in 1514. A virtual tour of the Église Saint-Pierre is available.

The first manor house of the Manoir de Keraouël, dating from the 16th century, is still partially visible. The chapel of the Manoir de Keraouël is dated to 1677.
