L'aber-Wrach: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

At Aber Wrac’h, practical port infrastructure meets maritime heritage: the port is classified as a port of heritage interest and offers 240 V electricity connections and water, a fuel station, and a slipway for launching boats.

Maritime Heritage

Île de Cézon and its fort have been listed as a historic monument under a protection order dated 27 July 2015. Fort Cézon dominates access to the Aber Wrac’h channel; Vauban chose the site, and construction began in 1694 under the direction of the engineer Robelin.

The Aber Wrac’h semaphore was built in 1861 and served to monitor and communicate with ships off the coast. The Semaphore garden above Baie des Anges offers views of the entrance to Aber Wrac’h and the Île Vierge lighthouse; it is located near the coastal path. At Aber Wrac’h harbour beach, there is also a more than 500-metre-long concrete anti-tank wall, which now serves as a seawall.

On the Water

Aber Wrac’h Odyssée offers maritime excursions departing from the ports of Aber Wrac’h and Plouguerneau. The Route des Phares takes visitors to four prominent lighthouses and conveys the area’s maritime heritage. The Safari Maritime includes the observation of grey seals and seabirds.

Built in 1971, the algal schooner Martine offers two-hour introductions to traditional sailing from Aber Wrac’h harbour. During a sailing trip with the Centre de Voile on Aber Wrac’h, participants can help with the manoeuvres and take the helm.

Paths and Landscapes

The Rand'Abers 2 hiking route begins at Aber Wrac’h harbour in Landéda and follows the GR 34 for more than two-thirds of its length. It offers views of islands and sandy beaches.

Nearby Landéda is home to the Dunes de Sainte-Marguerite, a protected area covering 46.37 hectares. The Bac An Treiz connects Aber Wrac’h harbour in Landéda with Perros in Plouguerneau, making it possible to travel between the two banks of Aber Wrac’h.
