Locquirec: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Locquirec's central beach is a very large fine-sand beach that is suitable for swimming at high tide. At the same time, it is in the immediate vicinity of shops and restaurants.

Coast and nature

Île Blanche lies at the mouth of the Douron and is a Natura 2000 site. At Pointe du Château, a 280-degree panorama opens up between the Trégor coast and the mouth of the Douron. The area is designed for walks and is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Culture and history

The Church of Saint James houses a polychrome altarpiece from the late 15th century in the Flemish style, depicting scenes from the Passion of Christ. In Finistère, it is one of the works classified as noteworthy by the Monuments historiques. The former Saint Ingar de Lézenguer Chapel dates from the 16th century and houses statues of Saint Ingar and Saint Milon.

Locquirec is one of the starting points of the Way of Saint James in Brittany. At the Saint Ingar de Lézenguer Chapel in Linguez, a pardon followed by a communal outdoor meal takes place every year on the Sunday after Ascension.

Paths and activities

The “Entre terre et mer à Locquirec” route begins at the car park at Porz ar Villiec beach and follows the GR 34 to Pointe du Château. For water sports, Surfing Locquirec offers surfing and bodyboarding lessons, stand-up paddle excursions, and equipment rental.

Locquirec is also connected to La Vélomaritime, also known as EuroVelo 4: the town marks the end of the Plougasnou–Plestin-les-Grèves section through the Breton département of Finistère.

Local life at the harbour

Pêcherie Locquirécoise is present at Locquirec harbour on Wednesdays during the market, selling local fish and seafood directly.
