Culture

The Saint-Gouescat Church in Tréouergat was built between 1901 and 1925 according to plans by the architect Ernest le Guerranic; the bell tower was constructed according to plans by Joseph Philippe. On October 18, 1905, it was consecrated by Mgr Dubillard, the Bishop of Quimper and Léon.

Several polychrome wooden statues from the former church, which was replaced by the current building, have been preserved in Saint-Gouescat Church. The Pardon de Saint-Gouescat takes place on the second Sunday in August. The Saint-Hervé hermitage is a named stop on the “De Saint-Hervé à Saint-Ergat” route.

The Pont ar Bleis manor house is also one of the town’s notable historical landmarks and is considered a remarkable example of Tréouergat’s heritage of stately homes. The Penn-ar-Prat stele is pyramid-shaped, has an octagonal cross-section, and is 0.70 metres high.

Local details

A one-kilometre-long access path that does not become muddy leads to the Saint-Ergat Fountain; there is also a large car park there. The Saint-Ergat Fountain is located in a forest beside a picnic table. Its three columns are reused Gallic steles.

Paths

Trail loop No. 24, “À travers les bois: Tréouergat-Lanrivoaré”, is 14.8 kilometres long, is rated easy, and is listed as taking two hours.

The official mountain bike loop No. 7, “Saint-Renan / Lanrivoaré / Tréouergat”, is 48.5 kilometres long and runs along minor roads and paths.
