Guiclan: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

A distinctive way to discover Guiclan is its network of hiking trails: its circular routes and variants cover more than 70 kilometres of paths in total. Water, gardens and religious architecture are also among the town’s defining features.

Nature and Trails

The Plan d'eau de Kernabat is a recreational and relaxing place for children and adults. The garden of the Centre Missionnaire Saint-Jacques, known as Parc Saint-Jacques, is open to the public all year round, occupies a 18-hectare site and is a starting point for various hiking trails.

Culture

In the Église Saint-Pierre, the chancel termination is characteristic of 17th-century religious architecture in Léon and was listed, along with the main portal, by decree of 3 June 1932. The Rosary altar features 15 finely carved medallions depicting the 15 Mysteries of the Rosary. Guided tours of the parish church and its remarkable altarpieces, with commentary, are offered in Guiclan throughout the year from Monday to Saturday.

History

The Moulin de Trévilis probably dates from the 15th century. The Château de Lézérazien, also known as Saint-Jacques, was built by Count Albert de Kerouartz. It has a private chapel, rebuilt in 1864 or 1869 and dedicated to Saint James.

Roc'h-Toul is a prehistoric cave that served as a dwelling for Stone Age people several thousand years ago. The cave and rock of Roc'h-Toul were classified by decree of 22 October 1913. The Chapelle Saint-Visias contains a statue of Saint Thivisiau, depicted as a bishop. The pardon festival of the Chapelle Saint-Visias takes place on the same day as the pardon festival of Saint Thivisiau in Landivisiau.
