Crozon: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The coastal beaches of Crozon offer opportunities for water sports and other activities in natural coastal landscapes. These are complemented by historic paths, geological features and places where the history of the peninsula can be experienced firsthand.

Coast and paths

Morgat is associated with swimming, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, sea fishing, sailing courses and jet skiing; the town is also associated with boat trips on relatively calm waters. The Grottes de Morgat can be visited by boat. Their rock is pink due to iron oxides.

The challenging GR34 coastal hiking trail conveys impressions of the various landscapes of the Crozon Peninsula. The Route des Fortifications is a historic focal point: it comprises 16 fortified sites selected for their accessibility and historical importance, allowing walks through the landscape.

Geology and nature

The geological nature reserve of the Crozon Peninsula comprises 27 sites. Each of them contains remarkable geological features of significant cultural-historical, scientific or educational value. Postolonnec is one of these sites and has an almost complete reference profile of the Postolonnec shale formation from the Middle and Upper Ordovician. Porzh Koubou is also part of the nature reserve and features a fossil beach made up of iron-cemented pebbles.

History and culture

Lostmarc’h is a prehistoric Iron Age promontory fortification that was reused as a guardhouse in the 18th and 19th centuries; the remains of this guardhouse are now in ruins. Since 27 March 1980, Lostmarc’h has been listed as a historic monument in the supplementary inventory of the Monuments historiques. There is a corresponding monument marker near the car park, and since 2007 the site has been part of the Route des Fortifications of the Crozon Peninsula.

Seven of the eighteen religious buildings documented in archives are still preserved in Crozon today. Saint-Philibert is the only one of the documented religious buildings in Crozon that dates from the 16th and 17th centuries.

At the southern tip of the Crozon Peninsula, the Maison des Minéraux presents the geology of the Armorican Massif. It offers outdoor activities in which minerals are explored through the senses, photography and hands-on activities. The Maison des Minéraux also houses Europe's largest collection of fluorescent minerals.

Geographical setting

The Fort de Lanvéoc, Trez-Rouz Beach, la Mort Anglaise Beach, the Tour Vauban historic site, Fort du Portzic, the Croix de Penhir monument and Plage du Petit Minou are located near Crozon. The island of Île de l'Aber is in the immediate vicinity of Crozon.
