Trémeur is a place where cultural history can be traced through buildings, paths, music and events.

Culture and History

The parish church of Trémeur was listed as a historic monument by decree of 19 March 1926. The historic heritage also includes the former Saint-Georges priory in Trémeur, which lies along the Tro Breizh route. A historic pilgrimage route linked the centre of Trémeur with the Saint-Georges priory.

The town’s musical history is also linked to a specific individual: Élie Guichard (1905–1987), a violinist and singer, came from Trémeur. Dastum preserves 70 audio recordings by Élie Guichard.

Paths and Traditions

The Tro-Breizh stage from Dinan to Broons is 29.6 km long. A GPX file is available for download for this stage. This means that both the route connection to the former priory and the specific stage between Dinan and Broons form part of the town’s traditional history and pilgrimage heritage.

Festivals and Sightseeing

The traditional Fête du Violon festival takes place every two years at the beginning of June in Trémeur. Its programme includes violin courses and a sung Rouzinée walk.

The European Heritage Days are organised in Trémeur every year in September. These are complemented by summer and themed tours of the local heritage, including “L’Art dans les chapelles”.
