Saint-Péver: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Saint-Péver is closely connected to the Forêt Départementale d’Avaugour-Bois Meur, which covers 1,100 hectares within the municipality.

Nature

The Avaugour-Bois-Meur forest has eight hiking trails adapted to different fitness levels. Historic sunken lanes in Avaugour-Bois-Meur once connected agricultural plots with villages, hamlets and farms and are now used by hikers. The former quartzite quarry in Avaugour-Bois-Meur filled with water and became a pond.

The visitor centre at Ferme de Bois-Meur has picnic tables, toilets accessible to people with reduced mobility, a shelter and a car park.

Paths and Circular Routes

The Circuit des petites landes is a 1.5-kilometre circular route that takes 30 minutes and starts at the de l’enseigne car park. The Circuit de la vallée d’Avaugour is a seven-kilometre circular route that takes two hours and starts at the church car park in the centre of Saint-Péver. Tro Vras is a 27-kilometre circular route lasting seven hours, starting at Ferme de Bois-Meur.

Culture and History

The Chapelle d’Avaugour was classified as a historic monument by decree of 24 July 1957. The Chapelle Notre-Dame de Restudo, including its wall paintings, was classified as a historic monument by decree of 2 November 1954.

The old charcoal burners’ sites in Avaugour-Bois-Meur are circular areas where wood was once turned into charcoal. Le petit Lourdes is a hidden rock formation that was once a place of prayer and pilgrimage.
