In Ruca, historic monuments and a signposted cycling loop come together. Notable sites include the Chapelle Notre-Dame de Hirel, the Église Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul and the privately owned Manoir du Bois Rouault. The exhibition “Des Racines & des Voix” is also scheduled to take place in Ruca in 2026.

Culture and History

The Chapelle Notre-Dame de Hirel is located at the eastern entrance to Ruca; it is 200 m from the town hall on foot. The rectangular building from the 16th century remained unfinished in its original layout. On 21 May 1953, the chapel was listed as a Monument historique.

A protected historic detail is also recorded at the Église Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul: the door of the north façade was listed as a Monument historique on 5 February 1927.

The Manoir du Bois Rouault is a privately owned Renaissance manor house that can be seen from the road. Its architectural features include a square tower with corbels and loopholes.

Exhibition

The exhibition “Des Racines & des Voix” combines 15 photographic portraits with 15 audio contributions. It was held for the second consecutive year in 2026; in Ruca, it is scheduled to run from 15 September to 16 October 2026.
