Prat: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Prat combines historic architectural forms, traces of former uses and landscape features. Paths through different habitats and bodies of water complete this picture.
Culture and History
The original construction of Saint-Pierre Church in Prat took place between 1620 and 1622. The bell wall, inspired by Beaumanoir architecture, has survived from this construction period; the south porch was built in the Renaissance style in 1718.
Several periods of construction and use are represented at the Poulloguer Mill: the building may date from the 17th century, was modified in the 18th century and most recently renovated in the 21st century. In the 20th century, the mill was converted into a sawmill and ceased operations in 1974. The waterwheel was restored true to the original.
The remains of the Chapel of Trévoazan are attributed to the Templars, members of the Commandery of Palacret in Saint-Laurent, and date from the 13th century.
In the wider region around Prat are Kastell Tonkedeg as a castle, Kastell Koad Freg as a castle and Tonquédec Castle as a historic site. Abbaye de Begar is located in the area around Prat as a historic site.
Nature and Trails
The circular hiking trail “Around the Chapel of Trévoazan” starts in Prat and is 13.7 km long.
The Poulloguer grounds are a family-friendly place for walks, with a mosaic-like mix of natural habitats and old structural elements. A small path at Poulloguer leads through wetlands, forests and bocage landscapes that are a legacy of agricultural activities from past centuries.
Water and Landscape
The Poulloguer fishing pond is fed by the Poull ar Gan and Botlézan streams and lies within the Jaudy catchment area. The fishing area at Étang du Poulloguer is accessible along the entire shoreline, except on the dam.
In the wider region around Prat are Plage de Trestraou as a beach, Kermagen Plage as a beach, Legonet as an island and Île du Milieu as an island.
