Plouër-Sur-Rance: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Plouër-sur-Rance combines paths along the Rance with churches and megalithic monuments. Between riverside paths, bocage landscapes and maritime culture lie varied landscapes and evidence from several centuries.

Nature and Activities

The Monplaisir circular trail starts at the Chapelle de la Souhaitier and follows the Rance past dry-stone walls. Along the way, it enters the Bois de Rigourdaine. The coastal path runs along the banks of the Rance. Between the Rigourdaine site and the hamlet of La Matz, the Rance valley reveals itself in a variety of landscape forms.

The Circuit des Bois Rochel hike follows the maritime Rance, partly directly along the water and partly on higher paths. For cyclists, the discovery loop runs along paths and small roads, opening up the bocage landscape and the coast of Plouër-sur-Rance.

Culture and History

Construction of the Église paroissiale Saint Pierre et Saint Paul in Plouër-sur-Rance began in 1703. The church has the floor plan of a Latin cross. Four elements are listed as historic monuments: the pulpit, three altarpieces, three recumbent effigies and the lectern. The recumbent effigies depict Alain de Plouër, Perrine Edder and the Unknown Woman. They come from the previous building; Perrine Edder and the Unknown Woman date from the 16th century, while the figure of Alain de Plouër dates from the 15th century.

The Allée couverte de Bel Evan ou Bellevan is a Neolithic covered passage at Clos Belevau in Plouër-sur-Rance. It has been listed as a historic monument since 4 September 1981.

The Chapelle du château de Plouër preserves an altarpiece from the time of Louis XIV, as well as seigneurial benches that served as prie-dieux and low cupboards for prayer books. The chapel is an elongated, octagonal building with granite pilasters and granite bands on a lime-plastered base. This design is characteristic of the style of the engineers of Saint-Malo.

By the Water

The marina of Plouër-sur-Rance has 240 pontoon berths, including 10 for visitors. Electric bicycles can be rented at the marina to travel to the town centre or the supermarket.

The Centre Nautique Rance Frémur offers activities in Plouër-sur-Rance such as kayak polo, sea kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. For groups of seven or more, the Centre offers sea-kayak or canoe excursions.
