Plésidy: Holiday apartments and houses

Plésidy is characterised by its chapels, historic buildings and distinctive landscape features. These include the Chapelle Saint-Yves, which was restored in 1753 and again in the 20th century. It features stained-glass windows by Philippe Lejeune; according to tradition, one window in the chapel depicts Saint Yves between a rich man and a poor man.

Culture

The Chapelle de la-Trinité also bears traces of different construction periods: the western part of its nave was rebuilt in the 19th century. The Calvaire-fontaine features a cross sculpted on both sides and a small gable wall with three niches. It also includes depictions of the Descent from the Cross and the Virgin and Child.

The Chapelle Saint-Michel du Médic in Plésidy is documented as early as 1644. It features a stained-glass artwork created in 2005 depicting Saint Michael vanquishing the dragon, and received a beige granite altar with Celtic-inspired decorative details in 2013. The Chapelle Sainte-Anne depended on the destroyed Kerhenry manor house.

History

The Manoir de Toulgonec, also known as Toul-an-Golet, dates from the late 15th or early 16th century. The manor house is built entirely of granite.

Nature and trails

A distinctive feature of the landscape is the Menhir de Cailouan in Plésidy. It is 7.40 metres high and stands in a meadow near a spring. Activities in Plésidy also include walks in the forest.

The 13.32-kilometre Circuit trail du Toul Du loop trail runs through Plésidy. In the wider region around Plésidy lies the rural Argoat area, with the small villages of Plésidy, Kerpert, Saint Adrien and Kerien.
