Mellionnec: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The wild and largely unspoilt Scorff Valley is designated as a Natura 2000 site. The Scorff provides a habitat for brown trout, Atlantic salmon and otters. The Restmengui Valley also has a remarkable range of flora and fauna.

Culture

The Chapelle Saint-Auny was built in the second half of the 17th century. Its pardon takes place every year on the Sunday after Ascension Day. The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Pitié in Hacadour dates from the early 16th century and has not been altered since the 16th century.

The Church of Saint John the Baptist was probably built in a single construction year, 1647. The year 1647 and the name of the parish priest, Coguic, are engraved on two wings and on the tower. The Château de Trégarantec was built in 1698.

When the estate is open, the gardens and the small chapel of the Château de Trégarantec can be viewed by the public – on afternoons in July and August and during the European Heritage Days.

Paths and structures

The Mellionnec cycling circuit follows roads and paths. A trekking bike or mountain bike is recommended for the Mellionnec cycling circuit.

The Menhir de Cornec is 2.55 metres high and probably dates from the Neolithic period. The double lock at Coat Natous on the Nantes–Brest Canal has a shared gate between two locks.
