Les Champs-Géraux: Holiday apartments and houses

The Vallée du Brice has two hiking trails: an 11 km route taking 3 hours and a 3 km route taking 1 hour and 30 minutes. The walks pass two ponds and older houses and historic features, including the dovecote of the La Gravelle manor house, and offer peaceful, relaxing scenery.

History

The Notre-Dame chapel in the town centre was built mainly during the first quarter of the 18th century; construction work is recorded in 1704, 1818 and 1821. The restored chapel is now the parish church; it was restored in 1955.

The La Gravelle manor house was rebuilt in the 17th century on an older site and subsequently became the parish’s principal manor residence. Its estate includes an octagonal dovecote dated 1604, outbuildings from 1624 and a residential building from 1637.

Sacred sites

The Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours chapel was built in 1821, destroyed by fire in 1891 and completely rebuilt during the last quarter of the 19th century. An annual Pardon was held there until the 1970s on the Sunday closest to 8 May. The church preserves a naively styled depiction of the Virgin and Child, possibly dating from the late 16th century.

Things to do

Aux P’tits Bottés offers horse riding in the great outdoors, from baby ponies to advanced level, as well as fun activities centred on nature and the seasons. Farm animals and a vegetable garden provide the basis for educational activities on animal care, animal-assisted learning, biology and agronomy.

Local products

Ferme de la Moinerie sells meat at retail and wholesale, as well as charcuterie directly to local customers.
