Hénon has a very hilly terrain. The highest points reach 250 metres, while the Évron River drops to 60 to 70 metres along the eastern edge of the municipality. The Catuélan stream is a tributary of the Évron and contributes to shaping the landscape of Hénon.

Culture and History

The Château de Catuelan is partially protected as a historic monument; the protected elements are the façades and roofs, the portal with its pediment and pilasters, the terraces, and the courtyard floor and moats.

The manor house of the Château du Colombier dates from 1450 and has a remarkable corner tower from the same period. The Chapelle de la Ville-es-Zion is also known as the Chapelle du Saint-Esprit.

Gardens and Landscape

The Parc du Colombier is a former French formal garden and has been awarded the “Jardin remarquable” designation. A tour of the Parc du Colombier and its gardens takes about one and a half hours. The visit to the Parc du Colombier begins at a 15th-century chapel and leads through a valley with a stream, rhododendrons and gunneras.

Hiking and Trails

Twelve circular hiking trails and mountain bike trails (MTB) are designated in Hénon.
