Guingamp: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Basilique Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours in Guingamp was built in the Gothic style in the 13th and 14th centuries. After the collapse of the southwestern section, it was rebuilt in the Renaissance style in the mid-15th century; various architectural styles are visible inside. The basilica can be visited free of charge every day from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Place du Centre combines five centuries of architecture, with stone residential buildings, the richly decorated Renaissance fountain La Plomée, and half-timbered houses from the 15th and 16th centuries. La Plomée was built in the 15th century and redesigned in the 17th century. The fountain has three basins and is reminiscent of Celtic triple fountains.

The Château de Pierre II, dating from the mid-15th century, preserves three towers and part of Guingamp’s imposing city walls. In Guingamp, the Centre d’art GwinZegal offers activities focusing on photography and its many facets.

Abbaye de Begar is a historic site in the area surrounding Guingamp. In the immediate vicinity of Guingamp are Peter II Castle, a historic site, and Abbaye Saint-Croix, also a historic site.

The Festival de la Saint-Loup in Guingamp is a week-long festival featuring traditional dances, parades, performances, and workshops. It involves 2,500 musicians, artists, and dancers of Breton, Welsh, Scottish, Irish, Asturian, and Galician Celtic origins.

The wooded banks of the Trieux in Guingamp can be reached from the Place du Centre via the small Venelle du Moulin de la Ville. Along the 6 km of landscaped riverbanks are washhouses, viewpoints, and footbridges crossing the river, making the area suitable for walking or running.
