Glomel: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Étang du Korong is a 75-hectare body of water and serves as a resting place for waterbirds during migration. The circular route around the Étang is an easy, 6-kilometre trail with no significant incline.

Nature

The Réserve Naturelle Régionale de Glomel covers 108 hectares of peaty heathland, wetlands and moorland. Lan Bern is a plateau of more than 80 hectares comprising wet heathland, meadows and peatlands on the Canal de Nantes à Brest near Glomel.

Trails and Activities

Lan Bern has a level, sand-bound, 2-kilometre path with limited barriers for families and people with reduced mobility. The Circuit de la Grande Tranchée is suitable for trail running, mountain biking, running and hiking.

Canal and Landscape

An 11-kilometre trail leads through the entire Lan Bern nature reserve and to the Grande Tranchée des Bagnards on the canal, which is more than 3 kilometres long, 100 metres wide and 23 metres deep. At 184 metres above sea level, it is the highest point of the Canal de Nantes à Brest and marks the watershed between the Blavet and Aulne drainage basins.

The lock staircase of the Canal de Nantes à Brest between Paule and Glomel comprises 15 locks over a length of 4 kilometres. It can be descended by canoe raft via the installed slides.

Culture and History

The Église Saint-Corentin in Trégornan dates from the 15th century. Its nave was built in the middle of the 16th century, the south portal and transept in the second half of the 16th century, the sacristy in 1627, and the bell tower at the end of the 17th or beginning of the 18th century. The altarpiece of this church contains works by Simone Le Moigne.

The Menhir de Park Menhir is an 8.60-metre-high Neolithic granite megalith from Rostrenen and has been classified as a monument historique since 1975.
