To the north, Urt is bordered by the Adour River and its tributary, the Aran. Some of the town’s Barthes wetlands lie in areas designated as Natura 2000 sites and ZNIEFFs.

Nature
The Bartas d'Etxepette / Etxepetteko bartak walking trail is 5 km long, takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes, is very easy, and is suitable for families and all audiences. It leads to the Ardanavy River, a tributary of the Adour, and to the floodable wetlands of the Barthes d'Etchepette. Their natural environment includes, among other things, yellow irises, water lilies, willows, plane trees and alders, as well as grey herons, herons, otters and European pond turtles.
Culture and History
The Port du Vern, also known as Le Chantier, was an important site for repairing Couralins, Gabarots and Galupes. After the remains of these boats were found in the Aran during a spring tide in September 1986, the site was called the “cimetière des galupes”.
Parc de Castets is open to everyone and includes a fronton used by both experienced players and beginners to practise Basque pelota. It was built in 1929 and renovated in 1992 and 2003.
The Abbaye Notre-Dame de Belloc was founded in 1875 in a former manor house. The monks there produce “Abbaye de Belloc” cheese. The Sainte Scholastique convent was founded in 1883 in the immediate vicinity of the Abbaye de Belloc; the sisters living there also make candles.

The Citadelle de Bayonne, a fort, is located near Urt. The wider regional area includes Château Vieux de Bayonne, a fort, the Abbaye de Saint-Bernard-lès-Bayonne, a historic site, and the Abbaye Saint-Jean-de-Sorde, also a historic site.
The wider regional area also includes the beaches of Plage du Métro, Plage d'Ondres, Plage de la Digue and Plage des Cavaliers.
