Ossès has a well-preserved architectural heritage, particularly its large houses in the style of Basse Navarre. These houses date from the 18th century and can be viewed on a walking tour through the village centre. The Église Saint-Julien-d'Antioche was built on the foundations of a former chapel dating from the 12th century and is constructed entirely from pink sandstone.

The Goicoechea family has nurtured its passion for clay for three generations; in Ossès, they produce pottery. During a guided tour, visitors can watch artisans behind glass as they make pottery and ceramics. Visitors can also visit the craft zone in Ossès and discover Basque craftsmanship.

Nature and activities

The Laka stream runs through Ossès and several districts. The village is also associated with the Course du Laka, held every year in April. The route is 21 km long, has 1,400 metres of elevation gain, and can be completed running or on foot.

Hikes from Ossès offer panoramic views of the Iparla ridges, the peaks of Baïgura and the summit of Artzamendi.

Crafts and cuisine

The Brana distillery in Ossès offers a tour of the distillery followed by a guided tasting of its spirits. A visit to the Arnabar farm begins at the boutique in Ossès; the farm is located a few kilometres away. On returning to the boutique, visitors can taste foie gras and homemade specialities.

Events

The Ossès Apple Festival takes place every year at the end of September. At the Apple Festival, traditional techniques for pressing apples are demonstrated, and numerous apple products are available for tasting.
