Culture
The parish church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste was built in the 15th century, fortified by Marguerite de Navarre in the first half of the 16th century, and restored in the 17th century after the damage caused by the Wars of Religion. It has figurative stained-glass windows supplied by Jules-Pierre Mauméjean in 1884, as well as decorative stained-glass windows by Jean Lesquibe dating from around 1960. The church also includes a bell-tower portal and a northern side aisle.

Nature
Escos is situated in a green landscape reflected in the clear waters of the Gave d’Oloron. Part of the municipality lies within the Natura 2000 site “Le Gave d’Oloron et marais de Labastide-Villefranche”, a special protection area with the identification number FR7200791.
The surroundings of the Gave d’Oloron in Escos are associated with fishing for trout and salmon.
Trails
The Plage du Gave is one of the places to discover in Escos. Château Carrère is a 19th-century manor house that can be seen from the Voie verte after crossing the Gave d’Oloron.
The Voie verte can be accessed in Escos and is open exclusively to pedestrians and cyclists. Known as the Voie verte de Salies-de-Béarn, it runs along a former railway line that has been adapted for pedestrians and cyclists.
Les berges du Gave is a circular hiking trail of approximately 5 kilometres in the municipality of Escos; the hike takes an average of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. The circular route leads through the Gave valley.
