Larressore: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History

The parish church of Saint-Martin in Larressore was built between 1893 and 1894 to replace a dilapidated 17th-century building. Maison Ospitalia is documented as a former pilgrim station on the Way of St. James since 1256.

The site of the former Larressore seminary was added to the supplementary inventory of historic monuments in 2005. Château Saint-Martin is a fortified house dating from before the 15th century.

Maison Pelerenia was a former inn on the pilgrimage route of the Way of St. James that operated in the 18th century. Visitors can enter the former seminary to see its courtyard and the former cloister.

Walking Tour

The Larressore heritage trail is 2.5 kilometres long and leads to 12 historic or architectural sites equipped with information panels. It begins at the car park near Vival. Classified as very easy, the walking tour is suitable for families, families with pushchairs and people with reduced mobility.

Landscape

Larressore extends across the valleys of the Nive and the Latsa, as well as meadows, farmland, forests and pastures.

The Pont du Diable district (Orkatzberoa) leads to a pleasant spot with an oak grove on the banks of the Latsa River. From the district, there is a view of a very old stone bridge.
