A particularly well-preserved, pointed-arch fortified gate in Castetbon is the Porte du sel.
Culture and History
The church of Castetbon stands in the heart of the village. The gravestone of Jeanne Claire Lendéjon is still visible in its central aisle. The place name itself also contains a historical reference: Castetbon means “fortified castle” and refers to the Romanesque period from the 10th to the 13th century.

When travelling to Castetbon via the A64, exit 7 for Salies-de-Béarn and Sauveterre-de-Béarn or exit 8 at Orthez for Navarrenx are relevant.
