As a spa town, Eaux-Bonnes preserves architectural features of the Second Empire. The Jardin Darralde was laid out as an English garden in 1861. The town’s history also includes the Chapelle d’Assouste, a 12th-century chapel in Eaux-Bonnes. It has been classified as a Monument historique since 10 August 1923. Its semicircular, vaulted apse and southern portal with sculpted capitals characterize the building.
A whistled language developed by shepherds in Aas before 1850 made it possible to communicate over distances of up to 2.5 kilometres. Aas is considered the only shepherd village whose inhabitants practised this whistled language; a commemorative plaque dedicated to them is located on a pillar of the church. Eaux-Bonnes also offers an audio-guided tour of the town’s historical heritage with the free Wivisites app.
Following an extended construction period, the reopening of the Eaux-Bonnes spa centre is scheduled for the end of April 2027.
