Monclar: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Monclar-d'Agenais is a bastide town founded by Alphonse de Poitiers in 1256. The Tolzac crosses Monclar to the south and east, winding through a side valley. On the slopes above the Tolzac Valley lies the site of the Chapelle des Prélats, which was listed on 26 March 1980.

Culture and History

The streets of the bastide town of Monclar-d'Agenais feature several half-timbered houses and natural stone masonry. The Church of Saint-Clair has a 16th-century porch that is listed in the French register of historic monuments. The bastide town of Monclar-d'Agenais can be visited free of charge all year round.

The Chapelle de Prélats was restored by volunteers in the 1990s. The Musée du patrimoine displays collections of bladed weapons, farming tools, everyday objects, and furniture from the former post office.

Landscape and Trails

The circular route Lac de Magre, la balade du pech de Bellevue is 11 kilometres long and starts and ends in Monclar. It can be completed on foot or by mountain bike. The route follows the edge of a hill marking the boundary of the Lot Valley and passes through numerous orchards.
