La Sauvetat-Du-Dropt: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Pont Roman has 23 arches, including 11 Romanesque and 12 Gothic arches. Since 1992, it has been classified as a historic monument and lies half in La Sauvetat-du-Dropt and half in Agnac.

Culture

The Renaissance house on Avenue de Grammont dates from the 15th and 16th centuries. It extends over three levels and has two wide, round-arched windows. The Church of Saint-Germain preserves a Romanesque choir dating from the 12th century. It is open daily year-round from 09:00 to 18:00; guided tours are available by arrangement.

The history of the village also includes the former Porte de Duras and the bastide. The former Porte de Duras was part of the town’s western fortifications and was demolished in 1830. La Sauvetat de Caumont became a bastide in 1270 under the influence of Alphonse de Poitiers.

The heritage trail through La Sauvetat-du-Dropt includes half-timbered houses. It is available year-round as a free walking tour and as a digital tour via QR codes. In the digital version, QR codes on numbered plaques lead to pages with information about the history and anecdotes of each site.

The “Mes Mains en Liberté” studio in La Sauvetat-du-Dropt offers workshops in sculpture, modelling and watercolour painting year-round by arrangement. In La Sauvetat-du-Dropt, Randoland offers a 2.1-kilometre family orienteering trail with puzzle sheets for the age groups 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 and over.

The “La Sauvetat-du-Dropt, la balade du pont roman” route leads through the hills of southeastern Duraquois between Soumensac, Lac de l’Escourroux and the Dropt Valley.
