Fongrave: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Fongrave was founded in the Middle Ages, probably in the 12th century, around a Fontevrist priory. The former priory was established on the banks of the Lot in the 12th or 13th century.

Culture and History
Saint-Léger Church is connected to the adjoining Fontevrist priory of Fongrave and served as its priory church. After the priory church was destroyed by Protestants in 1586, the nuns used part of the parish church.
Parts of the former priory have survived, including a cross-vaulted cloister gallery, an arcaded gallery opening onto the Place de la Mairie, and part of the residential building. The partially preserved and protected former Fontevrist priory also includes the façades and roofs of the former convent building and the dovecote, two covered galleries, the footprints of demolished buildings, and the enclosing wall of the priory.
The Notre-Dame-de-Tout-Pouvoir Chapel is a small rectangular brick building and was restored in 1992. According to tradition, a vow was made in 1742 to end an animal epidemic; the chapel was then built in 1749.
Saint-Léger Church, including its bell tower built in the 19th century, has been listed as a historic monument since 19 April 1996. The Fongrave altarpiece is classified as protected movable cultural heritage; it was classified on 6 June 1985. It was created between 1645 and 1650 by the woodcarver Simon de Sainte Livrade, the woodcarvers Turingeau and Jacques, and the carpenter Guillou, commissioned by Prioress Françoise de Campet. The statues were created by the Bordeaux sculptor Frontin between 1657 and 1659.
Activities
At Fun-Grave on the Quai du Lot, visitors can take trips by canoe, electric boat, or bicycle along the Véloroute. Fun-Grave also offers kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, mountain biking, e-mountain biking, fishing, and equipment rental.
Getting Around
The Fongrave altarpiece is located in Fongrave Church at 7 Place de la Mairie. It can be reached by boat via the Lot or by car via the road network.
