Culture

The bastide of Sérignac-sur-Garonne was founded in September 1273 without fortifications. In the bastide, the 11th-century church occupies a central position; this distinctive layout is known as “à enveloppement”.

The Notre-Dame church of Sérignac-sur-Garonne is a Romanesque building that was constructed at the beginning of the 11th century as a single-nave church. In 1062, it was transferred to the Cluniac priory of Layrac.

The architectural heritage also includes the Manoir de Menjoulan. It consists of a rectangular main building arranged at an angle, with a dovecote tower integrated into the residential building.

The statue of Saint Saturninus dates from the 17th century. In the Notre-Dame church of Sérignac-sur-Garonne, it is a carved, polychrome-painted wooden work located in the choir. Since 11 July 1990, the statue has been protected as movable cultural heritage.

Water and pathways

The Nautical Station of Sérignac-sur-Garonne offers moorings for eight boats. Water and electricity are freely accessible at the station; during the season, a harbour master's office with a large shower is also available at the entrance to the village.

The walking trail between the Canal de Garonne and the Garonne runs through a plain where orchards and poplar groves lie side by side. Along the canal, the walking trail follows the newly created Voie Verte.

Cycling and walking routes

La Cyclo'Nature is a cycling route that runs from Saint-Romain-le-Noble to Sérignac and onwards into Albret. Along La Cyclo'Nature there are bicycle racks, manual repair and inflation stations, as well as charging stations for electric bicycles near places to eat or rest.
