The Remparts de Domme, including the Château du Roy site, have been classified as a historical monument since 5 January 1943. The Remparts de Domme are pierced by three gates: the Porte del Bos, the Porte de la Coumbo and the Porte des Tours. They date mainly from the 13th and 14th centuries.
Culture
The covered walkways on the platforms of the Remparts de Domme allow visitors to pass from one tower to another; they probably date from the 16th century and were built during the Wars of Religion. The Porte des Tours of the royal bastide of Domme contains mysterious graffiti and is an outstanding example of early 14th-century military architecture.
The Maison du Batteur de Monnaie, the oldest house in Domme, stands on the Place de la Rode. It was built in 1282.

Nature
A natural cave extends beneath the village of Domme to a depth of 20 metres and over a length of 450 metres. It consists of a series of chambers with an exceptionally rich abundance of formations created by mineral deposits. A panoramic lift on the rock face enables visitors to return to the surface from the cave and then reach the village.
The Belvédère de la Barre at the end of Domme is one of the best-known viewpoints in the Périgord Noir and offers a view over the Dordogne Valley.
Things to do
The branch of the Way of St James known as “Rocamadour, Bergerac, La Réole” runs for 30 kilometres through the area of the community of municipalities and through Domme.
The Domme Express offers an audio-guided tour of the royal bastide of Domme, its history and its notable buildings. Tickets and departure are at the Place de la Halle by the tourist office.
Local life
The Marché de Domme is a traditional weekly market where producers offer fresh, local and seasonal products.
