Culture and History

The Jardin des Délices is a 500 m² enclosed garden at the former abbey of Ligueux. It contains remarkable trees, boxwood borders, a wisteria growing on a 19th-century trellis, old roses, columbines and an almost hundred-year-old shrub peony.

The former abbey of Ligueux dates from the 12th and 13th centuries and was restored in the 18th century. It includes an abbey church characterised by its dome. The grounds of the former abbey also include a 17th-century château with a monumental gateway.

The orchard and the Jardin des Voyouses at La Buissonnière are freely accessible. The Jardin des Voyouses was transplanted to Ligueux in 2007.

The historic site of Abbaye Notre-Dame de Ligueux is located in the vicinity of Ligueux. The Château de Borie-Petit and the ruins of Abbaye de Boschaud are located in the surrounding area of Ligueux.
