Culture and history

At Christiansborg Palace, visitors can see the state rooms. The palace also stands above ruins, including a medieval wall, which can also be visited.

Activities

CopenHill offers the opportunity to ski and snowboard in the middle of København. CopenHill’s paths and stairs lead upward; the shortest route from the foot to the summit is approximately 450 meters long. Themed cycling routes in København also take visitors to natural attractions. København’s harbor has swimming zones and harbor baths.

Cityscape and water

The Little Mermaid sits on a rock in the water at Langelinie Pier. The sculpture was created by Edvard Eriksen in 1913 and is a 15-minute walk from Østerport Station. Nyhavn offers another distinctive waterfront view, with its brightly painted 17th-century houses. Canal tours depart from Nyhavn. The Danish fairy-tale writer Hans Christian Andersen lived in three different houses in Nyhavn.

Food and creativity

On Refshaleøen in København, Reffen is a street food market and cultural meeting place. The site has around 35 food stalls and also includes four creative workshops. In this way, the venue combines culinary offerings with spaces for creative work and complements the historical, museum-related and water-focused sides of København with a distinctive cultural setting.
