Valasske Mezirici: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the center of Valašské Meziříčí stands the large Baroque castle “Zámek Žerotínů”. Its foundation dates back to 1538; today, the castle complex is a cultural center of the town and offers a varied program year-round.

Culture

The Muzejní a galerijní centrum, featuring a historical exhibition, is located in the southern wing of the castle. The castle courtyard is designed as a French park. During the school holidays, it hosts festivals, concerts, and film screenings.

Exhibitions

The “Zámek Kinských” castle houses the interactive permanent exhibition “Člověk v krajině, krajina v lidech”. It explores the changing relationship between people and the Wallachian natural environment – from the arrival of the first prehistoric hunters in the region to the present day. The castle is also home to a branch of the Muzea regionu Valašsko. The “Zámek Kinských” castle has an amphitheater that serves primarily as a venue for cultural events in summer.

The Muzeum řeznictví is fully accessible and presents the history of the butchery trade through an interactive exhibition of butchery machinery and equipment.

Nature and Sky

The “Naučná stezka Zámecký park Kinských” educational trail runs through the park and includes ten stations covering the park’s creation, its history, and its natural assets.

In good weather, visitors to Hvězdárna Valašské Meziříčí can use telescopes to observe the Moon, planets, multiple-star systems, and stars in the night sky. Hvězdárna Valašské Meziříčí offers programs for individual visitors, families, and organized groups.

Cuisine

At the Muzeum řeznictví, visitors can, with advance booking and as part of a guided tour, sample meat and smoked specialties from MP Krásno, a. s., and the local Řeznictví H+H, as well as regional beer from the Paličák microbrewery.
