Lázy: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Lázy offers far-reaching views of the Kelečská pahorkatina uplands, the Bečva Valley towards Hranice, the Beskids and the Vsetínské vrchy hills. Several signposted trails pass through the village, which is also home to named cultural and natural features. The landscape, trails and individual historical sites are therefore associated with different, specifically named local references.

Landscape and nature

One of the designated natural features is the Lípa v Lázech lime tree. It is designated as an individual natural monument of the large-leaved lime (Tilia platyphyllos). Thus, in addition to views of the surrounding landscapes, the locality also includes a distinct, botanically identified natural monument with its own name.

Culture and history

A prominent cultural landmark is the typical Wallachian wooden bell tower in the centre of Lázy, built in 1925. The wooden bell tower in Lázy is also a protected cultural monument. Its history also includes the bell itself: it bears an inscription with the name Volfgang Adam Straub from Olomouc and the year 1848.

Another historical aspect relates to the local history of crafts. From 1854 until after 1900, Lázy was home to a manufactory producing stoneware ceramics. The manufactory used local clay to make red majolica with a white glazed interior. The period, purpose of production, material used and characteristic colour and glazing finish are therefore documented.

Signposted trails

Several routes pass through or lead to Lázy. A yellow-marked hiking route from Oznice to Pržno passes through Lázy. This route is approximately 13.5 kilometres long and is recommended primarily for hikers. Another connection is cycle route No. 6216, which runs from Valašské Meziříčí via Poličná, Branky, Police, Podolí and Lázy back to Valašské Meziříčí.

A route from Valašské Meziříčí via Lázy and Rajnochovice to the Rozhledna Kelčský Javorník observation tower also passes through Lázy. Another route reaches Lázy from Valašské Meziříčí via Jarcovská Kula, following the Cyrilometodějská stezka. These trails connect Lázy with named places and the observation tower. The route descriptions also differ in their respective courses: one route returns to its starting point, while others pass through Lázy to a named destination or reach the village via a specific trail.

The Hostýnská magistrála runs from Svatý Hostýn to Lázy. Its main section is moderately difficult, more than 19 kilometres long and crosses secondary routes at seven points. The Hostýnská magistrála is also a groomed and signposted cross-country skiing route through the Hostýnské vrchy hills. Cycle route No. 6118 also follows this signposted Hostýnská magistrála to Lázy. Hiking, cycling and cross-country skiing do not appear here as separate local references, but through named routes, each with its own direction, length or connection to other trails.
