Police: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Police is located 7 km southwest of Valašské Meziříčí, on the edge of the Kelečská pahorkatina hills. The southern part of the village extends into the slopes of the Hostýnské vrchy. At 557 m, Hůrka is the highest point in Police, while the Loučka forms the axis of the cadastral area.

Landscape and Nature

The Police Arboretum is home to 70 species of trees and shrubs commonly found in Central Europe. The arboretum is located on the grounds of the former Ve Zmole orchard and opened in May 2018; admission was free to the public. The Police Arboretum offers a panorama of the Beskydy and Javorníky mountains.

Cycling and Trails

Marked cycle route 6216 to Valašské Meziříčí runs through Police. The municipality also has a pump track that is open to the general public. In 2026, Police co-hosted the mountain bike competition “Polický okruh – memoriál Milana Gerly”, which is included in the DTB Série.

The Cyrilometodějská stezka runs through the southeast of Police’s cadastral area. It is a network of several routes known as a European Cultural Route, leading to Velehrad from various directions and following the traces of Slavic roots. Police also has a traditional New Year’s hiking trip; the event on January 17, 2026, led on foot to Oznice and back to Police.

Culture and Village Life

Police is home to the Božského srdce Páně Chapel, built in 1933. The village also has a monument to the victims of both world wars.

The local events calendar included several traditional dates in 2026: At the Vepřové hody held in Police on January 24, visitors could sample traditional butchery specialties. The Polický košt slivovice took place on March 14, 2026, at Hospoda Nad Točnou for its third edition. On February 7, 2026, Police hosted the masked carnival procession Vodění medvěda, which visited the homes of local residents.
