Liptál: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Liptál is the starting point for the publicly accessible, signposted Kobzáňův chodník trail. The educational trail leads from the centre of Liptál via Obora towards Vartovna and has a signposted stop at Liptál Castle.

Nature

The Přírodní památka Pivovařiska nature monument is located in the cadastral area of Liptál. Its wet meadow and sun-exposed slopes provide suitable conditions for orchids and rare wetland plants. The natural area is shaped not only by its plant life: A travertine mound at a spring outlet in the gorge near the Obora forester's lodge is the largest in the Vsetín District.

The traces of earlier use are also part of the landscape. Old adits in Liptál, left behind by the extraction of fine-grained sandstone for making whetstones, serve as winter quarters for bats, particularly the lesser horseshoe bat. Nature and human labour are therefore not separate subjects here: Wet meadows, springs, travertine and historic adits each form distinct facets of the place.

Culture

Liptál Castle was built in the centre of Liptál at the end of the 17th century and is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. In front of the castle, the remains of an early 19th-century landscape park are freely accessible. The signposted stop of the Kobzáňův chodník at the castle also connects this historic site with the local educational trail.

The cultural offerings also include the permanent exhibition of Jan Kobzáň in Liptál. It includes a painting on loan from the museum in Holešov. The town's religious heritage is reflected in two churches from different periods: The Roman Catholic Church of Saint Michael the Archangel in Liptál dates from 1796, while the Evangelical Church in Liptál dates from 1907.

The international folklore festival Liptálské slavnosti, held every year since 1970, has a particularly strong continuity. The programme of the 57th Liptálské slavnosti on 22 August 2026 included craft days with woodcarvers, blacksmiths and other traditional crafts, as well as the opening of a fair. Traditional skills therefore appear not only as a historical memory, but also as part of the scheduled event programme.

Activities

In addition to the local sports grounds, Liptál has a new, varied asphalt-surfaced pump track. A bicycle repair stand is located at a pavilion near the pump track in the sports grounds. Since 30 July 2024, a charging station for electric bicycles has also been in operation at the fire station in Liptál. These three facilities form part of the town's sports and cycling amenities.

The Kobzáňův chodník complements the sports-related sites with a signposted route focused on its own theme. Its starting point in the town centre, its route via Obora towards Vartovna and its stop at the castle are independent components of the educational trail. Liptál thus offers both an asphalt pump track and a publicly accessible, signposted educational trail for different forms of movement and exploration.

For Liptál Castle, the event calendar of the Municipality of Liptál scheduled guided tours at 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00 on 6 July 2026. Both entries record specific, dated programme items for the museum and castle.

The programme of the 2026 Liptálské slavnosti also listed a castle café. Coffee, cake, Frgály, beer, wine and soft drinks were offered. The festival programme therefore recorded both traditional crafts and a fair, as well as a clearly specified food and drink offering.
